We had lost other pets before and had experienced the mourning and grieving that inevitably follows losing someone so close to you. With Brandy's death however, I had an unusually hard grasp on finding closure. Her death, while unexpected and tragic, did not give me time to find the peace with her passing or to process in my mind that he was going to a better place.  When we lose our babies we all deal with it in our own way. By me having Brandy’s picture EVERYWHERE was my healing process and still is to this day. It keeps her close to me and helps keep the good memories alive and strong. I know I will see her again, of that I am sure. Sometimes, however, we just need items to help us feel connected and help bond us with our animal companions until the day we meet them again. We know the road to healing isn't to avoid the memories; it's to embrace them and find peace with them.
